Memorial Day is a week away, and Canadian Blood Services (CBS) says it is the perfect time to donate blood.

“Canadian Blood Services encourages Canadians to honor members of the Canadian armed forces past and present to donate blood or blood products,” a statement from CBS said.

“Members of the armed forces are some of the most generous donors.”

Since the Department of Defense worked with CBS in 2006, members of the armed forces have donated more than 45,000 units of blood, inspiring many to do the same.
