Anyone who wants to honor the memory of a loved one can do so by putting an ornament on the tree of memories again this year.

Every year the large tree in Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery is filled with ornaments, and despite COVID-19, this year is no different.

<p dir=“Every year we see hundreds of ornaments on the tree of memories,” said David Gatzke, cemetery director.

“It is a simple act that is very important to our residents and visitors and is a tradition that we are allowed to promote year after year.”

You can find the tree under the dome in Promontory Green Interment Garden and also have the option to hang ornaments on the spruce trees that frame the Bennett Memorial and Legacy Gardens.

<p dir=Visitors can place ornaments on the trees every day between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. until January 9th.

Those looking to keep their ornaments after the holiday season should remove them anytime before January 10th.

The Tree of Memories program has been offered annually at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery since 1998.
