Two bloody crime scenes
Police have not yet provided the public with any information about a major incident in Kelowna’s mission area on Halloween night, which resulted in the abandonment of the sidewalk in front of the H2O center and a blood-stained house nearby.
Shortly before 7 p.m. on Saturday night, a large police presence reacted to a house at 685 Old Meadows Road and the nearby H2O Center.
While police were aware of the reasons for the call, a shirtless man was seen being handcuffed home from Old Meadows Road on Saturday night.
On Sunday the police will stay at both crime scenes and collect evidence. Bloody handprints stain the front of Old Meadows Road, and more blood can be seen on the house’s garbage cans. And while there are still Halloween decorations left in many Kelowna homes, that blood appears to be real.
The H2O center, about 10 minutes’ walk from the house, remains open on Sunday mornings, but an area outside the recreation center is cordoned off by police tape. A large pool of blood is visible on the sidewalk, and police evidence markers indicate additional drops of blood in the area.
Two officers stayed on Sunday and took photos of evidence.
Castanet contacted the RCMP in Kelowna for information about the incident. The victim’s condition or relationship with the man who was arrested is unknown.
