A Kelowna pub voluntarily closed its doors today after learning that a member of its community tested positive for COVID-19.
“They are self-isolating at home with the help of local health teams,” Doc Willoughby’s social media post read.
They go on to say that the safety and wellbeing of customers, employees and family members continue to be a top priority. That is why they closed voluntarily from December 6th.
“We will reopen after a time for which we feel safe for our employees as well as for the community,” it says in the post.
“Doc Willoughby’s has strictly followed all COVID safety protocols and we are confident that once opened, we will be able to create a clean and safe environment for socializing.”
For November 20th to December 3rd? Internal health COVID-19 numbers rose 211 from 540 to 751.
The Thompson-Cariboo-Shuswap Falls grew from 68 to 95 cases, the Okanagan Falls from 420 to 597, and the Kootenays by seven cases to 59.
The same restrictions on social gatherings and sports imposed on the Lower Mainland on November 7th were extended nationwide on November 19th.
Additional bans on things like adult team sports were introduced across the province yesterday, December 3rd.
Because COVID-19 has an incubation period of 14 days, it may take some time to see if any restrictions are having an impact.
Despite the positive direction, it’s a long way from the province in early November. From November 6-19, 7,425 new cases were registered, about 2,300 fewer than the previous period.
