Kelowna property owners can expect to receive their 2021 tax bills in the mail in the next several weeks.

Property taxes are due on July 2nd and since the town hall is only open to a limited number of people at a time, there are several ways to make a payment.

Owners can leave a check in the town hall mailbox or mail a check. You can also pay online, by phone, or in person through your financial institution, as well as through an external credit card payment company. The 2021 tax assessment notices are accompanied by a brochure that explains how this process is carried out online.

As of January 1, 2021, the province will take responsibility for its home ownership program and the municipalities will no longer be able to accept applications. To apply for a new or retrospective grant, or to check the status of your application, visit gov.bc.ca/homeownergrant or call 1-888-355-2700.

Kelowna City Council approved a 4.04 percent increase in tax demand for 2021. This means the owner of a residential property with an average estimated value of $ 689,990 will owe $ 2,200 in property taxes that year, an increase of 7 $ .08 per month.
