Kelowna PetSmart Stays Closed After “Electrical Emergency” – Kelowna Information

UPDATE: MONDAY 10:40 AM

PetSmart in Kelowna remains closed after it was evacuated by fire departments on Sunday afternoon.

The Kelowna and FortisBC Fire Department were called to the Harvey Avenue store shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday for a report of a glowing transformer in the building.

The shop was still closed at 10am on Monday with a sign on the door saying it was reopening “TBD”. Calls in the store are forwarded directly to voicemail.

Kelowna’s PetSmart employees and customers were evacuated Sunday afternoon following reports of a glowing transformer in the building.

The Kelowna Fire Department and FortisBC are currently on site at 2024 Harvey Avenue. The crews de-energized the transformer, but the building remains closed.
