The City of Kelowna will begin work to improve pumping performance at the launch of Water St.

As construction begins next week, the parking lot on the south side of the Water Street jetty will be closed to the installation of electrical services so that electrical pumps can be used during flood events.

A Kelowna City press release stated, “The use of electric pumps at this location reduces costs, emissions, noise, maintenance and risk.”

This $ 170,000 project will protect key infrastructure along Water Street and the city center.

Parking is expected to be possible again in April.
