A Kelowna man believes he has evidence that Sasquatch is real.

Roy Watson lives on June Springs Rd. In East Kelowna and recently posted a photo of a six inch wide footprint.

“Be careful out there in East K, had some possible Sasquatch prints in my yard this morning. I’m in June Springs. I woke up with my trash can torn to pieces and my gate cracked overnight or could identify that print. Totally weird , If you ask me. “

Watson says the incident happened on Jan. 19 and he was not a believer before he found the footprint.

“I didn’t believe it at first and then saw the prints, it shocked me and completely changed my point of view. I didn’t really believe before.”

Watson says he heard a loud commotion the night before he found the tracks. The next day he found his garbage can “destroyed”.

“I’m just as shocked as you are. Some people don’t believe it, but I know it’s real, that’s all that matters to me.”

Since that day, Watson has been trying to reach out to so-called Sasquatch experts, but the confirmation he’s most likely to have come from a man named Brian Wells who studied the prints. Wells said he couldn’t confirm the prints were Sasquatch, but he wasn’t ruling it out either. Watson says the pressure ranges between a size of 17-20 men’s shoes. “It was a very big pressure.”

Whether or not there is a Sasquatch in the area, Watson says he doesn’t take any chances: “I keep my dog inside at night now and make sure my door is locked. I’m a full believer.”
