Mounties has now charged a 52-year-old Kelowna man with attempted murder in connection with a shooting on his partner on March 21st.

The incident was brought to the attention of the RCMP on March 21 when a 29-year-old woman was rushed to Kelowna General Hospital with a gunshot wound.

An investigation led to a residence on the 100 block off Prior Road South in Kelowna, where the incident allegedly took place.

“It is believed that this was an act of interpersonal violence. This type of violence is extremely traumatic and should have no place in our community, ”said Supt. Kara Triance, officer in charge of the Kelowna RCMP, said in a press release.

“Our domestic violence department is working with the injured person to ensure they receive ongoing support and services throughout the legal process.”

As a result of the investigation, Darin Holden, 52, was arrested from Kelowna and has now been charged with attempted murder and possession of a non-compliant firearm. He was held in custody pending his next appearance in court on April 1.
