A Kelowna business has been named as one of the 100 Best Workplaces in Canada according to an annual survey.
Capri Insurance has landed on the list of best medium sized companies in Canada, a survey complied by Great Place to Work Institute Canada.
“Our people are what make this a great place to work,” said Tim Miller, President of Capri Insurance. “Team members genuinely care about the well-being of our clients and they’re empowered to make decisions and do what’s right. Being recognized as a Best Workplace in Canada only confirms what we’ve always known, that we have a fantastic team here at Capri.”
The competition process is based on two criteria: two-thirds of the total score comes from a 58-statement survey completed by a random selection of employees, along with their open-ended comments about their organization; the remaining one-third of the score comes from an in-depth review of the organization’s culture, including an evaluation of HR policies and procedures.
This year’s list received over 300 nominations and over 60,000 employees participated in the 2016 survey. Capri Insurance came in 44th on the list, which was topped by FreshBooks, Vega, and DNE Resources.
Capri Insurance was founded in March 1975 in Kelowna with just six employees. The company now employs over 300 people in 12 offices across British Columbia.
