A candlelight vigil is planned for this coming weekend in Kelowna in honor of the Ukrainians who have lost their lives during the Russian invasion.
The vigil is being organized by Kelowna Stands With Ukraine coordinator Dennis Storozhuk.
“Everyone is invited to come gather,” he said. “Please bring candles. We are accepting supplies and financial donations.”
The members of the group have raised thousands of dollars and they continue to purchase and send tactical equipment and humanitarian supplies to their connections in Ukraine. They have been behind several rallies and fundraising initiatives since Russia invaded Ukraine last month.

The vigil will be held outside the Ukrainian Orthodox Church at 1935 Barlee Rd. on Saturday, March 26 at 7:30 pm
“It is impossible to calculate how many have died,” Storozhuk said. “There are confirmed casualties and there are tens of thousands of people under collapsed buildings or missed on occupied territories. Any money donated will go to buy medical supplies for the injured.”
