Vehicle fire in Kelowna ruled non-suspicious

The incident happened around 5 p.m. on Monday, November 29

A car fire in the 1200 block of Loseth Drive in Kelowna has been ruled non-suspect, according to the Kelowna Fire Department.

The incident happened around 5 p.m. Monday, November 29 in the Black Mountain area of ​​Kelowna. Initial reports suggested the vehicle posed an exposure hazard to a nearby residential building. However, the first officer to arrive reported a fully involved vehicle fire and no exposure issues. The fire was quickly extinguished by the first crew to arrive.

The fire brigade responded with two locomotives, a rescue unit and a command vehicle. RCMP was also on site.

“The cause of the fire is not considered suspicious and is most likely a mechanical/electrical failure,” wrote Kelowna Fire Department platoon commander John Kelly.
