Dog lovers and craft beer aficionados alike will be delighted to hear that a new business is on the rise in north Kelowna.

On Tuesday evening, the city council unanimously endorsed a license for alcohol for the Unleashed Brewing Company on Clement Avenue.

The owners intend to build an indoor facility with 99 seats and an outdoor terrace with a capacity of 30 people.

Despite a recommendation from the RCMP to close an hour earlier, the council gave the green light to serve until 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until midnight on Friday and Saturday.

“The biggest noise on this street will be the heavy trucks, much more so than the brewery,” said Councilor Charlie Hodge.

“And Dog-Nabbit, I look forward to seeing it!”

After construction, the craft brewery will offer people a dog-friendly and family-friendly space.

“We’re very excited to join the neighborhood and be part of some amazing craft breweries,” said Ashton of Unleashed Brewing.

“We definitely strive to keep our space family-friendly, which of course includes bringing these K9 friends with us as we want to be as dog-friendly as possible. Our goal is to develop a space that is comfortable for everyone. Even if you don’t. ” Do you plan to bring your dog, we have a place for you! “

The supported license recommendation will now be forwarded to the Provincial Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch for final approval.
