After days of intense speculation about a retirement home in West Kelowna, Interior Health has now reported an outbreak at the Heritage Retirement Residence.
A press release from Interior Health said, “Four employees and six residents have tested positive for COVID-19. Anyone in close contact with these people is in self-isolation and is monitoring symptoms.”
Interior Health and operator Verve Senior Living continue to monitor the situation and implement additional infection control and prevention measures, including:
- Monitor all residents for respiratory symptoms and conduct COVID-19 tests on those with COVID-19 symptoms.
- Improved cleaning protocols and COVID-19 visitor guidelines.
The Heritage Retirement Residence is a private serviced and independent residential residence operated by Verve Senior Living. As an additional precaution, the operator has implemented a temporary stop for all visits to the website.
