Kelowna RCMP on Thursday announced charges following a suspicious death in a Rutland home.
BC prosecutors have approved a second degree murder charge against Dereck Donald Sears in the death of Darren Middleton, whose body was in Kelowna on the 17th.
Sears was arrested and on pre-trial detention in the wake of the incident Thursday, with his next trial scheduled for Jan.
RCMP tells Castanet, “With this matter now in court, no further information will be released.”
Police spent most of the day at the scene on Thursday. Neighbors told Castanet the house had been in a state of disrepair for many months, with broken windows and trash in the front yard.
