CATO students held a decorating class to build several gingerbread houses

Have you ever dreamed of building your own house for a good cause?

Well, you can almost make your dreams come true by building and decorating a gingerbread house in a competition hosted by Habitat for Humanity Okanagan.

Kits can be purchased from the charity’s website. The money raised will go to the Lake Country Build, which is helping 12 families get home.

The Kelowna Center for Arts and Technology hosted a class that included 32 students. When asked why, interior design director Jennifer Yeo said habitat is a fantastic thing to relate to.

“Habitat for Humanity is very important to us as interior designers. It is an important project to find houses for people that offer them a chance, just the thing for us – it fits well.”

Photos of your creation must be emailed by December 14th.

Voting for People’s Choice lasts until December 21st and costs $ 5 each. The funds go to non-profit organizations.

The winner will be announced the following day and will receive $ 250 in cash.

Voters will enter a raffle to win a $ 100 restoration gift certificate.
