The diversion signs are about to descend and Glenrosa Road is expected to be fully open to traffic shortly before Friday noon.

The City of West Kelowna says it will complete $ 5.95 million early on the multipurpose infrastructure improvements on Glenrosa Road from Glen Abbey Place to McGinnis Road.

While the road section of the project is being completed, motorists may experience minor delays due to off-road work such as irrigation installations, landscaping and drainage improvements. These are carried out depending on the weather conditions.

Active transport improvements in the first phase included:

  • Realignment of the Glenrosa / McIver junction and inclusion of pedestrian activated signals
  • Digging, sorting and installing new substrates, substrates and asphalts on Glenrosa Road
  • Construction of sidewalks and cycle paths along both sides of Glenrosa Road
  • Installation of LED street lights and improvements to transit stops
  • Irrigated landscaping

Phase 2 of the project, including sidewalks, curb, gutter and drainage work, is expected to begin in the spring.
