The city of West Kelowna says the Glenrosa Road detour will remain in place for Saturday and Sunday for sidewalk preparation.

The municipality says that keeping the weekend detour will shorten the overall duration of traffic disruptions associated with the project.

One lane will remain open on Glenrosa Road and traffic going north will be diverted onto Yorkton Road and Morningside Drive. Motorists are advised to adhere to the 30 km / h speed limit on all detour routes and in and around work areas.

The road structure, the curb and the installation of the storm sewer are now complete. The paving is expected to take place within the next two weeks, weather permitting. All construction work is expected to be completed in June 2021.

The modernization of Glenrosa Road between Morningside and Webber Road is in full swing. Upon completion, residents will benefit from new improvements including: improvements to sidewalks, curbs and roads, and improvements for pedestrians on McIver Road from Glenrosa to McTaggart.
