UPDATE: Highway 97C locked after 3 people were flown after a collision between Merritt and Kelowna
Rescue workers in West Kelowna respond to a collision involving six people between Merritt and Kelowna
UPDATE: 6:40 pm
Three people were flown to Kelowna General Hospital after a vehicle accident on Highway 97 between Brenda Mine Road and Pennask Summit.
According to the latest update from DriveBC, the motorway will be closed to traffic in the west from 6.14 p.m.
In the hospital, an ambulance is said to be waiting for the patient with an oxygen cylinder.
Allegedly four passengers were involved, including two children.
Several emergency vehicles are still at the scene of the accident.
Two occupants were trapped in the vehicle.
Traffic is slowing eastbound, but the delays appear small. Drivers are asked to pay attention to the traffic control. Check DriveBC for the latest updates.
