An accidental fire in a Kelowna restaurant ended Saturday night with no injuries and some water damage.
At about 9:45 p.m., the Kelowna Fire Department dispatch center received an emergency call indicating a fire in a business unit on Harvey Ave. 1950 was reported.
“The first on-site crew had access to the unit and were faced with light smoke and an activated sprinkler system,” said train captain John Kelly in a press release.
“The crew found a fire in an office in the back of the building. The sprinkler system managed to contain the fire in the office area. However, it caused some water damage.”
KFD said evidence indicated that the fire was accidental in nature. They responded with three engines, a rescue unit, and an Incident Command vehicle. We were also supported by members of the Kelowna RCMP.
