Harri Lill and Marie Truman from Estonia train at the Kelowna Curling Club.

Estonia’s mixed doubles curling team is training in Kelowna this week.

With the Mixed Doubles World Championships only months away, Harri Lill and Marie Truman are in town early to get acquainted with the ice at the Kelowna Curling Club.

The championships begin on April 18th in Kelowna and last through April 25th.

Lill and Truman say they have decided to get to Kelowna early so they can train on the same ice they will compete on during the tournament.

While they may be the first team to get through Kelowna before the big event, they probably won’t be the last.

Club manager Jock Tire invited the Estonians out for dinner during their stay.
