Workers “shaken” after alleged armed robbery in Kelowna

The suspect pulled out a gun, asked for cash, and then fled the scene

Kelowna RCMP officials are investigating a suspected armed robbery Monday evening (April 5th) on a local business.

Mounties responded to the deal on the 2400 block of Highway 97 N around 9:30 p.m.

The suspect reportedly entered the store, demonstrated a handgun and demanded cash. He fled the scene with the money, although the RCMP did not disclose the amount.

“Fortunately, no one was injured in the robbery, but the worker was extremely shocked by the incident,” said Cpl Jocelyn Noseworthy of the Kelowna RCMP.

The officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as follows:

  • Caucasian man
  • about 5’10 “/ 178cm
  • thin physique

At the time of the incident, he was wearing sunglasses, a dark hood, a red and black checked shirt and a red bandana on the lower face.
