Workers “shaken” after alleged armed robbery at Kelowna store

The suspect pulled out a gun, asked for cash, and fled the scene

Kelowna RCMP officials are investigating a suspected armed robbery Monday evening (April 5th) at a local company.

Mounties responded to the deal around 9:30 p.m. on the 2400 block of Highway 97N

The suspect allegedly entered the store, made what appears to be a pistol, and asked for cash. He fled the scene with the money, although the RCMP did not disclose the amount.

“Fortunately, no one was injured in the attack, but the worker was deeply shocked by the incident,” said Cpl Jocelyn Noseworthy of the Kelowna RCMP.

The officers searched the area but could not find the suspect.

The suspect is described as:

  • Caucasian man
  • about 178 cm
  • thinly built

At the time of the incident, he was wearing sunglasses, a dark hood, a red and black checked shirt, and a red headscarf on the lower face.

Mounties are asking anyone with information about the robbery to contact the RCMP in Kelowna at 250-762-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
