Donate to the less fortunate Okanagan children to make gifts

The annual Christmas gift house for children continues in a new format

Despite the province’s health mandates, low-income children who want to experience the joy of giving will not be left out this holiday season.

The annual Christmas gift house for children cannot operate as usual, where children can choose gifts for their parents, grandparents or loved ones. However, an alternative is still taking place.

“This year, we will be distributing prepackaged gifts for men and women through local elementary schools to children in low-income families (as indicated by the schools) to give to their parents and important adults in their lives,” says People Place organizing the annual event said.

But donations from the community are still urgently needed.

New or as good as new unwrapped items such as wallet jewelry, lotions, games, candles and decorative items can be dropped off at People Place, 3402 27th Ave., until November 27th. For more information, please call 250-558-6585.

Sutton, Browns Social Home, Vernon Home Building Center, North Okanagan Optimist Club, and community donors make the event happen.
