This month marks the 20th anniversary of the Earthly Creations Floral Art and Gift Gallery, owned and operated by Marie Shandalla. Marie is located at 2630 Pandosy Street all the time and is celebrating the anniversary on Saturday, November 30th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with lots of specials, Knight’s Chocolate samples and drinks. The first 12 people in the store will get free flower arrangement delivery in town in December. Marie always throws a great party so come visit us.

While visiting Earthly Creations, be sure to check out the nearby Tutt Street Gallery, also on November 30th from 12pm to 4pm. Owner and curator Martina Kral celebrates its 10th anniversary as owner and the 35th anniversary of the gallery, in which fine Canadian art is conveyed with a Christmas Delights Show and Sale. Will be present Rod Charlesworth, Anita Skinner, Anita McComas and Dorothy Tinning. The sale coincides with a Spirit of Christmas event at Pandosy Village on the same day, which includes a Christmas toy ride and a grand prize raffle gift basket for each toy donated.

The Kelowna-based accounting firm Chun & Co. will merge with MNP on February 3, 2020. MNP is Canada’s fifth largest national accounting and business advisory firm with 21 locations across BC. The Kelowna office is located on Dickson Ave. 600–1628 Chun & Co. endeavored to offer its customers more special services. MNP was keen to expand its presence in Okanagan and provide more professional resources to the area. CedarCreek Estate Winery was named Winery of the Year at the InterVin International Wine Awards 2019. InterVin is a competition that brings together wine writers, sommeliers and winemakers to judge both Canadian and international wines. It is one of the most prestigious awards in Canada and one of the top awards CedarCreek has received in its 32-year history. The wines with the highest gold medal are 2017 Platinum Haynes Creek Syrah and 2018 Platinum Block 3 Riesling. Taylor Whelan is the CedarCreek winemaker.

Congratulations to RCMP S / Sgt. Duncan Dixon on receiving the prestigious Order of Merit. S / Sgt. Dixon joined the RCMP 28 years ago and is currently the Detachment Commander for West Kelowna. He is also responsible for providing police services to residents of Peachland, Joe Rich, and Big White.

North Okanagan’s Gloria Morgan was elected Chair of the Board of Governors of Okanagan College following the resignation of Chris Derickson, who left the position following his recent election as head of the West Bank First Nation. Juliette Cunningham of Vernon was elected Vice-Chair, replacing Gloria.

Michele Nojonen has founded a new group for widows and widowers called Soaring Spirits International, which offers widowed people the opportunity to meet socially and create a local community of widowed friends through their regional social group program. The groups are led by their volunteer moderators who schedule meetings in their areas twice a month. The meetings focus on helping widowed men and women rebuild their social structure after the loss. They do not provide any presented content and all of their meetings are held in easily accessible public places. The aim is to help widowed people return to the world with a group of understanding friends by their side. Your next social function is December 9th.
