More coffee downtown

One of the most prominent corners of downtown Kelowna is about to have a new tenant, not much different from the previous one.

Deville Coffee will open on the corner of Bernard and Pandosy this fall, replacing a Starbucks that was in operation at that location until late January.

Deville has multiple locations in Calgary – a former Starbucks flagship store – and is also in the process of expanding into Edmonton and Vancouver. The company has opened cafes in multiple locations that were recently vacated by Starbucks, which closed 300 locations across Canada in favor of drive-through stores last year.

The Calgary-based company started its cafes in 2008 as a franchise owned local community. In addition to coffee and tea, the menu also includes fresh pastries and sandwiches.
