Vehicle crashes in the driveway

The emergency services responded to a vehicle accident in a house on South Highland Drive early Sunday.

One person was hospitalized as a precaution after their car crashed into the driveway of a house, according to the Kelowna Fire Department.

Shayne Kiehlbauch, train captain of the fire department, said the driver and the individual occupant of the vehicle had hit a large concrete barrier.

“When she hit it, the vehicle drove over this barrier, rolled and landed on a parked vehicle in the driveway,” said Kiehlbauch.

According to Kiehlbauch, the driver had got out of the vehicle and was speaking to others on site when the emergency services arrived.

He said an ambulance took her to the hospital as a precaution.

Emergency teams responded to a crash in the driveway of a house in Kelowna early Sunday morning.

A witness said first responders were on site just before 1am at a residence on Highland Drive South where a car appears to have crashed and landed on another vehicle in the driveway.

Fire, police and rescue workers were called on site.
