One of the newest schools in Kelowna recently addressed a case of COVID-19.

Interior Health has confirmed that a member of the Canyon Falls Middle School community tested positive for the virus, according to School District 23.

You are currently self-isolating at home with the assistance of local health teams while IH conducts contact tracing to see if anyone else may have been exposed to the case.

IH has not yet published exact exposure data on the website, but these data will be available online shortly.

<p dir=“The safety and well-being of students, families and employees remain our top priority,” said a press release from SD23.

“Central Okanagan Public Schools will continue to implement strict health and safety protocols and procedures in place so that students and staff can continue to attend school as safely as possible.”

SD23 will continue to work closely with IH to determine if additional action is needed and to support the school community.

Students and faculty members are asked to stay away from school if they show symptoms of COVID-19.
