With many companies suffering from the coronavirus pandemic, one company has adapted to COVID-19 and is now busier than ever.

“We make plexiglass shields and health barriers, we manufacture with acrylic,” said Harold Loewen, owner of Moldings and More.

Moldings and More, owned by the Loewen family in West Kelowna, saw their business boom.

“We heard that barriers were being erected, so we took action and then it just snowed,” said Loewen.

As soon as they finished their first job at a local bank, customers kept pouring in.

“It started with the essential services first, so we did a lot with doctor’s offices, grocery stores and mom and pop shops,” said Loewen.

“Now that people are preparing to go back to work, we see dentists, restaurants, physical therapists – everyone.”

With their newfound success, Harold says they will donate 20 percent of their profits back to the community.

“We have donated US $ 2,500 to them so far [Central] Okanagan Food Bank, ”Harold Loewen told Global News on Thursday.

“We expect to donate up to $ 10,000 once it’s all over.”

One of their customers, Bliss Bakery and Bistro, says the barrier gives them the confidence to continue to serve their customers safely.

“So this was a fun find: Harold of Moldings and More said they did, we started planning our reopening for Peachland and here and decided to try them out,” said Barry Yeo, owner of Bliss Bakery and Bistro.

Loewen says they will donate money back to the communities where their barriers are installed. Hence, Vernon makes donations to Penticton to help those in need.
