A music concert at the Rotary Center was canceled due to the spreading coronavirus.

Chamber Music Kelowna had already performed a minor miracle after losing two artists to travel restrictions from the virus.

Yesterday they managed to convince the German cellist Leonard Elschenbroich and the Ukrainian pianist Alexei Grynyuk to expand their North American appearances in Kelowna.

But now the concert on Saturday, for which 293 tickets were sold, has been canceled on the advice of the state health officer.

British Columbia organizers have been advised to cancel meetings of more than 250 people.

“Chamber Music Kelowna is working with the RCA to provide our subscribers and ticket buyers with fair value for the lost performance,” the group stated.

“Options include issuing tax receipts for the value of tickets, keeping individual credits in the system for use for the next season, and reimbursing refunds based on the original payment method.

“We hope that many subscribers will choose to accept a 2020 tax receipt on the value of their tickets for the concert on Saturday. This will help our charity a lot to cover costs that we cannot avoid or reduce due to the short cancellation period. “
