One-bedroom rent takes dip

The cost to rent a one-bedroom home in the Kelowna area dropped to a six-month low in January, but the two-bedroom price remained well over the $2,000 mark.

The average price of a one-bedroom unit dropped from $1,480 in December to $1,316 during the first month of 2022. The one-bedroom cost had not been that low since last July.

Meanwhile, the average two-bedroom price increased from $2,065 in December to $2,174 in January.

The average prices were taken from 98 listings on the Castanet classifieds website.

The one- and two-bedroom prices are up considerably over last January, when a one-bedroom unit went for $1,203 and a two-bedroom home cost an average of $1,814.
