The annual general meeting of the School Trustees Association 2021 v. Chr., Held virtually April 15-18, 2021, included videos from public schools in central Okanagan that were shown during meeting breaks.

In the 2019-20 school year, RSS dance teacher Jennifer Skogstad worked with her company dance class to prepare a dance video during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dance students performed their dance individually and a video was put together for the song Rainbows.

The third video showed the high-ranking jazz band Okanagan Mission Secondary, entitled Cotton Tail (Link youtu.be/HGc3DSaQr5A).

In the 2019-20 school year, Megan Frederick, Music Director at OKM, worked on a virtual project with her high-level jazz band during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Every student recorded their own pieces at home. The audio was then edited by Frederick to create a virtual performance.

The overall goal was to learn the new skill of playing / recording on a click-track. However, an essential aspect of the project was to keep the students connected by making music together.

Students performed Duke Ellington’s classic 1940 swing tune, Cotton Tail.
