Cat discovered wounded by unknown trauma on the Kelowna Emergency Veterinary Clinic

“As soon as Holly got to the shelter, she needed immediate attention to stabilize and warm her,” said Sean Hogan, manager of the BC SPCA in Kelowna.

“Blood tests showed anemia and infections that we are treating. She is quite underweight and will have surgery if she gains enough weight. Unfortunately she will lose her right hind leg. “

Holly is currently gaining weight in grooming and although she cannot carry weight on her right hind leg, she tries to play despite having a large bandaged leg.

Despite everything she’s been through, Hogan says she loves to purr when she is touched and likes the sound of people talking to her.

“Holly has a lot of sperm and she has shown that she is a survivor,” says Hogan.

“We continue to see progress, and when she is amputated and fully recovered, she will be ready for adoption. It will definitely brighten up any home. “

The medical cost of Holly’s care is expected to be nearly $ 3,000.
