For the third time in less than 48 hours, the school district has confirmed a case of COVID-19 in a public school in central Okanagan.

This time, it’s a member of the Springvalley Elementary School community that tested positive for the virus.

According to SD23, the infected person is currently isolating themselves at home with the help of local health teams.

In the meantime, Interior Health will contact anyone who may have been exposed to the confirmed case through contact tracing.

“The safety and well-being of students, families and employees remain our top priority,” said a press release from SD23.

“Central Okanagan Public Schools will continue to implement strict health and safety protocols and procedures in place so that students and staff can continue to attend school as safely as possible.”

<p dir=As before for any positive case at the Central Okanagan school, SD23 will continue to work closely with IH to determine if additional action is required.

This includes supporting ongoing communication with the Springvalley Elementary School community.

Any student or faculty member who has symptoms of COVID-19 are asked to stay home from school.
