Next phase of the new park

Dog owners note that the dog park at Glenmore Recreation Park will be closed until spring.
The city of Kelowna announced the closure to coincide with the next phase of construction in the park.
Phase 3 at Glenmore Recreation Park includes the construction of a parking lot, walkways and improvements to the access road.
Work will begin on Tuesday February 16 and is expected to be completed by the spring.
Two sports fields have already been built on the site. They are expected to be operational once the road improvements are complete.
This phase is expected to cost approximately $ 2 million.
Future phases may include a playground, hiking trails, multipurpose playing fields, sports fields, and a community garden.
Dog owners are encouraged to use the Glenmore, Ellison, Enterprise Way, Knox Mountain or Poplar Point Beach dog parks during closure.
