Auto show, cruise canceled

Boyd Autobody and Glass hope the community will accept their charity car raffle as well as the Father’s Day auto show.
The auto show has been a spring highlight in City Park for more than 20 years and was canceled a year ago due to health restrictions at gatherings due to COVID-19.
With restrictions in place earlier this year, the focus shifted to a car cruise that would have been streamed live for a safer viewing experience.
Unfortunately, the company announced on Monday that both events would not take place as planned.
Instead, Boyd put their energy into a car raffle to raise funds for the Kelowna Child Advocacy Center.
The grand prize is a 2010 Chevy Camaro 2LT, a “modern muscle car”.
Boyd Autobody & Glass donated this year’s award car, with additional customizations from Elite Auto Center, Andre’s Electronics Experts, Budget Brake and Muffler, Sign Craft, CIC OK Tire, Lordco Auto Parts and PPG.
“While the auto show was always a great family outing on Father’s Day, we now understand that
It’s not the time to do something that encourages people to travel or to collect, ”says Boyd Autobody and Glass GM Methal Abougoush.
“We’ll be back next year bigger and better than ever. But in the meantime we are happy that we can still support the CAC and help to do something for the children who need their help. “
In the past two years, more than $ 85,000 has been raised for the Child Advocacy Center.
Tickets are $ 25 each or five for $ 100.
