A 37-year-old BC man is being prosecuted for allegedly creating and distributing child pornography on his own daughter.

The Fort St. John man was arrested on February 8 after a joint investigation involving the Alberta Internet Child Exploitation Team, the RCMP, and the United States National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

A tip led to the investigation, which quickly identified the images in question and associated them with the defendant.

“Our main concern was the health and wellbeing of this child. After receiving this tip, our investigators took action and arrested them as soon as possible, ”said Sgt. Randy Poon with the Alberta ICE team.

The man is accused of creating, distributing, owning and accessing child pornography as well as multiple firearms offenses.

He is in custody and his name will not be published under a ban on publication. Child care is also involved.
