Since the Okanagan has seen such spring weather recently, certain communities are allowed to do a few things.

For the city of West Kelowna, this means that street sweeping has started ahead of schedule.

<p dir=In areas where the streets are to be swept, signs are put up in advance to give people enough time to remove their vehicles from the street.

However, the city also released a tentative schedule so residents can have an idea in advance of when their neighborhood will be tackled.

  • West Bank – in progress
  • Gellatly Goat’s Peak – March 11th
  • South Boucherie // Pritchard / Green Bay – March 12th
  • Lakeview Heights / Casa Loma – March 16
  • Butcher – March 19th
  • West Kelowna Estates – March 24th
  • Rose Valley – March 26th
  • Shannon Lake – March 30th
  • Smith Creek – April 7th
  • Glenrosa – April 13th
  • Upper Glenrosa / Bear Creek – late April
  • West Kelowna Business Park – To be determined

On the days when street sweepers come through your neighborhood, you need to find an off-street parking spot between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The city also urged residents to avoid wiping debris in piles on the pavement as it slows down the cleaning process.
