Two police officers are staying at the Golden Age Apartments on Prior Road South in Rutland on Sunday morning as several units are cordoned off.
On Sunday morning, the Kelowna RCMP announced that a woman had arrived at Kelowna General Hospital around 6 a.m. with a gunshot wound. The shooting was linked to the Prior Road South apartment complex.
The complex was quiet on Sunday morning. Several residents said they hadn’t heard anything out of the ordinary on Sunday morning, but one woman said police and paramedics were also in the complex on Friday evening.
Yellow police tape surrounds the front and back of several units in the complex, and two officers are on site.
In a previous statement, the RCMP described the victim’s condition as “serious”. It is unclear whether any suspects have been arrested.

Police are investigating a shooting in a house in Rutland on Sunday morning.
At around 6 a.m. on Sunday, the RCMP responded to a call at Kelowna General Hospital after a woman arrived to treat a gunshot wound. The police described her injuries as serious.
Officers are currently investigating the shooting at a house on the 100 block off Prior Road South in Rutland.
Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy of the RCMP in Kelowna says the investigation is still at an early stage and the police will be home for some time.
The RCMP urges anyone who witnessed or is aware of the incident to speak to the police by calling 250-762-3300 or anonymously through CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
The incident comes after a separate “police incident” blocked Highway 97 in West Kelowna, although the details of the incident are still unclear.
