A house fire on Monday morning in Kelowna claimed lives.
Rescue workers were called to Block 100 on Timberline Road shortly before 6 a.m. on October 11 because of the fire.
Due to structural damage to the house and the risk of the roof collapsing as a result of the fire, the emergency services could not enter and carry out a full search. On Wednesday, firefighters and RCMP fire investigators resumed the search and discovered the remains of a deceased person.
“Kelowna RCMP is working with the BC Coroners Service to identify and determine the identity of the deceased,” said Const. Solana ParĂ©, Kelowna RCMP Media Officer.
“The investigation into the cause of the fire is still ongoing.”
