Man fends off intruders

A man in his 60s was sprayed with pepper spray but was able to stop an attempted break-in on Monday.
Kelowna RCMP says they were called to a house on the 200 block on Riverside Avenue just after 11 a.m. on September 6
The victim claims that a man disguised as a worker knocked on his door and convinced him to go outside. Outside he was sprayed with an alleged club.
“The victim, a man in his 60s, was able to run back into the apartment and prevent the suspect from entering. The suspect fled when his entry attempts failed, ”said Cpl. Jocelyn Nose worthy.
“This was a very scary incident for the residents of the house who were simply enjoying a quiet morning on Labor Day.”
The police are looking for a suspect who is a stocky man who is about six feet tall. He wore a gray shirt, reflective vest, yellow hard hat, blue non-medical face mask, blue gloves, and jeans.
Local residents are asked to check their security cameras to see if they have any footage of the incident or the suspect.

The attack came not far from another home invasion in the same neighborhood on September 2, which left two men seriously injured.
