There is currently a large police presence around the Buckerfield location in West Kelowna.
The RCMP says it is investigating the sudden death of a woman after she was called to the 2500 block on Main Street around 12:45 p.m. today.
“We are in the very early stages of this investigation and are working to determine the full details of this incident,” said Cpl. Jocelyn Nose worthy.
“We do not currently assume that the public is threatened.”
Witnesses used social media to say that RCMP surrounded a pickup truck in the grassy area near Main Street and officers had their guns drawn at one point.
A tarpaulin was laid out to cover the woman’s body.
Eastbound traffic on Highway 97 and westbound traffic through West Kelowna will be secured as a result of the incident.
