A motion is with the Canadian Radio and Television Commission which, if approved, would revive 103.9 CKOO-FM.

Radius Holdings Ltd., wholly owned by the Paul Larson Family Trust and operated by Paul Larson, has applied to the CRTC to purchase the radio station’s assets.

Soft 103.9, owned by Nick Frost, filed for bankruptcy on March 31st. Grant Thornton has been named trustee.

According to the petition, Radius Holdings would purchase the assets for $ 500,000, according to a confidential information memorandum between Radius and Grant Thornton dated May 13.

The radio station was originally bought by Glacier Media for $ 2 million as part of the Castanet Media acquisition from Frost in April last year.

However, the purchase never received approval from the CRTC before the station went bankrupt.

Larson’s motion will be heard by the CRTC on October 13th.
