Sparks of fire near the Glenrosa neighborhood in West Kelowna

The fire was discovered on July 22nd

UPDATE: 11:40 am

There are reports that there is no new fire in the area and the smoke that is visible is from the Brenda Creek fire.

A fire broke out near the Glenrosa neighborhood in West Kelowna.

The fire was discovered Thursday evening (July 22nd) and is recorded in the Venner Creek area.

According to the BC Wildfire Service, the fire is estimated to be 0.01 hectares. The cause of the fire is currently unknown, but the service said crews have been dispatched to assess the fire.

A helicopter also helps.

Glenrosa residents have reported seeing the smoke in the neighborhood.
