Vegas night to Bridge Gap

A trip to Las Vegas for two will be raffled next Thursday night when the Kelowna Rotary Club hosts a huge online fundraiser.
“Stay at Home Vegas: Where the HOUSE Always Wins” will be an hour of fast-paced entertainment and raise funds for the Bridge Youth Recovery House. The goal is to raise $ 150,000, with the bulk of the funds being used to kickstart phase two of the recovery house.
The event will take place on Thursday, April 29th, from 7pm to 8pm, followed by a virtual reception.
“Our Rotary club has always supported many different things in the community,” said Robin Smith, chairman of the Rotary Fundraising Committee. “We felt that given the mental health issues that are currently so prevalent with COVID and the opioid crisis in British Columbia, and that the bridge is doing such a great job that we would help it move to the next stage of the second their permanent establishment. “
The Bridge Youth Recovery House is a 16 bed facility with classrooms, gym, art room, music studio and kitchen. It teaches residents basic living and cooking skills and helps them restore relationships. A portion of the funding will also support scholarships, youth programs, education and literacy initiatives, and mental health services.
The Stay at Home Vegas event will be hosted by host Danny Hooper, and there will be silent and live auctions throughout the affair. There’s music, magic, entertainment, and an optional Vegas-inspired three-course meal and / or bottle of wine delivered to your door when possible.
