The residents of Central Okanagan will have a brand new home in a few months, where they can practice outdoor sports year round.

West Kelowna’s “Multi Sport Dome” will be the community’s first air-assisted structure to house a Super-8-size artificial turf field.

Ahhh, that’s exciting! The roof was raised on our new multisport dome today! We can hardly wait! It may take a few more weeks to finish. But just think, field sports will soon be played indoors in West KelownaCity this fall and winter! pic.twitter.com/ErwLgt4eRN

Those who want to use the full length during prime time will be charged $ 175 per hour, while off-peak rental rates are $ 110 per hour.

The Westside Youth Soccer Association sponsored $ 667,000 to build the $ 4.1 million facility, due to open in October.

Once completed, the dome is expected to significantly extend play and practice times for various recreational sports.
