Kelowna Mounties identified the man who recently alerted some girls with an invitation into his car and considered him non-threatening.

Kelowna RCMP received a report on March 26 that a man had driven up to four young girls on Forest Edge Road in Kelowna at around 3:45 p.m. on March 22. The man had a small dog with him and asked them if they wanted to get into his vehicle with it. The girls said no and ran to a relative’s house.

“Our officers identified the man in this situation and spoke to him,” said Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy of the Kelowna RCMP said in a press release.

“We have determined that there was no criminal intent on his part and he deeply regrets causing the children, their families and the concern of the community. We also determined that this incident was not related to any of the other recent reports. “
