Two more deaths at the Vernon nursing home

Noric House’s case numbers remain stable, but the death toll is rising

Members of Vernon’s Noric House mourn the loss of two other residents.

The death toll at Noric climbs to four, according to Interior Health’s COVID-19 numbers released on Wednesday, January 20.

There was also another death in the hospital.

“We are sad to report three more COVID-related deaths affecting a total of 55 people who have died from the internal health disease. Two of the people we lost were in long-term care at Noric House in Vernon and one was a member of our ward who died in the hospital, ”said Susan Brown, CEO and President of IH. “I would like to express my condolences to families and carers who have lost a loved one. Let’s protect our most vulnerable by using our protective layers: avoid social gatherings, stay home when you feel sick, wash your hands and wear a mask. “

The number of cases at Noric is still 51: 32 residents and 19 employees.

Creekside Landing Long Term Care in Vernon has 32 cases: 20 residents and 12 employees, with one death associated with this outbreak.

Long term care at Heritage Square in Vernon has 65 cases: 47 residents and 18 employees, with seven deaths related to this outbreak.
