30-year-old Chris Philpot is flying every chance he’s had since moving to the Okanagan

A fast-flying Okanagan pilot wowed the locals when he showed a video of himself floating through the sky over Skaha Lake in Penticton.

Chris Philpot, 30, has lived in the Okanagan for about two years and flies fast every day when conditions allow him.

Fast flying is an advanced paragliding discipline that uses a smaller than normal high-performance paraglider. The small wings allow the fliers to dismount faster and have more control to perform tricks like barrel rolling, explained Philpot.

Philpot said he could reach speeds of up to 90 km / h while speed flying.

Originally from Great Britain, Philpot has been practicing extreme sports such as skydiving and bungee jumping for over 10 years. But now he says that he gets most of his thrill from flying fast.
