Other changes to the City Park

The city of Kelowna is planning further improvements to its iconic downtown park as part of a multi-year, multi-phase project.

The city expects to begin the second phase of improvements to the city park in the fall, a decade after the first phase.

The latest improvements include making the path between the two washrooms smoother, wider, and more accessible.

Tree trunks would also be placed on the coast along Hot Sands Beach to prevent further erosion.

Future phases, including a network of cycle-only lanes throughout the park, are expected to continue as funds become available.

The city also hopes to get grants from high-level levels of government to build a pier, collect circles and playgrounds, and improve pathways throughout the park. These projects could start in 2023.

Residents are also asked for feedback on the overall designs in the park.

You are invited to comment on designs, share your favorite things to do in City Park, and ask questions and suggestions to the project team.
